Not only am I addicted, but I am in love with the silly beans. My love affair with caffeine started when I was a wee lad. My earliest memory of the stuff was my father coming home from his office for lunch. He would open his thermos and pour what was left from his morning coffee into three little plastic cups. My two older brothers and I would each get to drink some of “Daddy’s coffee”. It was super sweet (way too much sugar dad!), often cold, and coloured with Carnation evaporated milk (yuck). I was probably around five or six years old at the time but I can still remember the smell and the thrill of getting to drink coffee like my dad.
Fast forward a few decades and I still look forward to my daily fix! My love for the bean has got me really excited about an awesome new partnership between Ethically Hip and ONEbean Coffee Company. Starting today we are offering a great opportunity to make a difference in your community by purchasing some great coffee and tea directly from the coffee company.
Award-winning ONEbean coffee is committed to giving. It's very simple - the more coffee they sell, the more money they can give to great causes at home, and around the world. ONEbean sources their quality beans from the finest growing regions on the planet. Every bean is certified Fair-Trade Organic which means the farmers in the country of origin are not exploited and are compensated and supported for using sustainable, eco-friendly growing techniques. ONEbean's fundraising component has assisted organizations around the world in creating farming co-ops, clean water infrastructure, and safe homes for exploited children.
Ethically Hip's partnership with ONEbean focuses on local charities here in BC. A minimum of $5 of each purchase goes directly to the local charity. This month that means the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society will get your help in feeding 25000 people each week right here in Vancouver. The Food Bank has special buying arrangements with manufacturers and wholesalers that allow them to effectively turn a $1 donation into $3 worth of food. Your purchase of ONEbean coffee means the Food Bank will be able to buy at least $15 worth of food. Now THAT is using your purchasing power to make a HUGE difference!
